Mr. David HAWKINS, passed away Thursday evening, Feb 24, 1949 at his home near Kansas, Illinois. He had been ill with a heart ailment for the past several months. The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Kansas Methodist Church with Rev. Guy Dewhirst. Interment was made at Fairview Cemetery, east of Kansas. Mr. Hawkins was born Oct 29, 1868 in Sullivan County, Indiana being 80 years 3 months 25 days at the time of his death. He was the son of WJ and Sarilda Jane Hawkins. On Feb 1, 1893 he was united in marriage with Sarah N. ROBERTS of Oakland, Illinois who preceded him in death June 4, 1944. Eight of the nine children survive. Mrs. Gladys Cheatham is a daughter. Mrs. Laura Ellis of Ladoga and 3 other sisters also survive. - kbz
